Little City 5K & 10K Race
Come visit Vermont’s oldest city, Vergennes, on Saturday Aug. 28th for our 29th annual Little City Race. We have a 5K run and walk that takes you through our city streets and finishes at our City Green. A great opportunity for friends and family to get out and participate in a fun filled and healthy event. We also have a 10K run for those more serious runners, which has a challenging hill climb at the 3 mile mark. The view on the return to Vergennes is beyond spectacular and well worth the hill climb.
We have color race course maps at our registration site so that you can see the layout of our courses. Both courses have been wheel measured, so you can feel confident our distances are accurate. Our race registration and timing are handled by RunVermont, so you can count on a smooth registration and accurate timing of your run or walk.
Also, new for this year we are raising funds for the American Cancer Society. This is a great opportunity to make your miles more meaningful by dedicating your efforts in the race to the fight against cancer, and in honor or memory of a loved one, or you may simply donate to the cause! We have created a direct link for donating to the American Cancer Society, http://www.active.com/donate/ACSLittleCity2010. With every step you take and every mile you conquer, you’ll be helping create a world with less cancer. Help us fight this dreaded disease and enjoy a run or walk through Vergennes and after the race check out our other activities taking place on Vergennes Day. You can see a listing of events at www.vergennesday.com
We’re hoping for a large turnout of runners and walkers this year, so we highly recommend pre-registering on line at www.runvermont.org/littlecity. There is a $ 5 savings if you pre-register on-line. Registration starts at 8am. On Sat. the 28th at the Steven’s house adjacent to the green in Vergennes. The races all start at 9am. Hope to see you there. Please invite a friend or bring your entire family. Vergennes Day has numerous fun filled events, so come check us out….
